Over the years, he has advised clients in making sound legal decisions, guided clients in understanding complex legal issues, including contracts, risk assessment, and compliance with the law, as well as, provided research and guidance on dispute resolution, and helped with policy development to minimise risks and achieve goals. He offered strategic guidance on a wide range of legal matters.
With a solid academic foundation, holding an LLB degree complemented by Bar vocational training, he brings a balanced approach to complex legal issues – combining technical precision with a deep understanding of client needs. Sheriff’s practice is grounded in integrity, professionalism and an unwavering commitment to justice.
He is particularly skilled in courtroom representation, case analysis, and negotiation, and continues to build a reputation for excellence within the legal profession.
Prior to joining us, he served as a State Counsel at the Attorney General’s Chambers & Ministry of Justice under the Government of The Gambia, and as an Associate Legal Practitioner in renowned private law firms in The Gambia. His experience spans from representing clients in high-stakes criminal and civil cases to providing legal advice on corporate matters and government policies.
Sheriff’s academic contributions have been equally impactful. He has taught Business Law, Criminal Procedure and Gambia Legal System at leading institutions like the Management Development Institute and Gambia Technical Training Institute. Currently, he is serving as a Tutor at Gambia Law School. His role as an educator reflects his commitment to empowering the next generation of legal professionals, earning him multiple accolades for his teaching excellence.
In addition, Sheriff is dedicated to promoting human rights through his volunteer work, where he champions causes related to governance, the rule of law, and social justice.

During her role as Senior State Counsel at The Attorney General’s Chambers and Ministry of Justice in The Gambia, she was involved in various high-profile contract drafting, reviews, negotiations and advising the Government of The Gambia on complex legal issues.
Currently, she serves as Legal Officer for East Sussex County Council (ESCC), Brighton & Hove City Council (BHCC) and Surrey County Council (SCC) in the United Kingdom (UK). In this role, she provides legal advice and support to council and authorities, handling a variety of legal matters related to council operations, policies and the law.
